On July 31, Serkan Onur Yilmaz announced that he was transforming his hunger strike that began on November 10, 2024 into a fast until death while his health condition is critical. Started 270 days ago, this struggle aims to denounce the “well” type prisons in Turkey which are infamous for their particularly inhumane conditions of detention and their very strict solitary confinement regime.
